Friendship when it counts

Whether it happens to us or to someone we love, a life-threatening illness may be one of the most overwhelming experiences anyone can face. At times like these, the Oxfordshire Befriending Network is here to help.

On this site you can find out more about us, our work and our volunteers as well as ways in which you can get involved. We also advertise our job opportunities here.

Welcome to the Oxfordshire Befriending Network

The Oxfordshire Befriending Network provides a befriending service to people with life threatening illnesses and terminal diagnosis.  Our services are available across the whole of Oxfordshire to people of any age and background. All our services are free.

Our vision is that anyone in Oxfordshire who has a life threatening illness or is terminally ill has access to our services to support and empower them.  Our vision is that our services are culturally appropriate and needs led.  We are committed to working with and providing services for people from the widest possible diversity and background of culture and experience.

Our befriending services are provided by fully trained volunteers, supported by a skilled and experienced professional team.

The first of our 2012 training programmes commences in February 2012.

If you would like any more information, want to use our services, make a referral or volunteer, please contact us.
